Every time Apple announces a new generation of iPhones, the colour of the phones becomes a hot issue. This year’s iPhone 15 series is no exception, as we already know quite a bit about it given how close we are to its planned announcement on September 12.
There have been earlier rumours regarding the iPhone 15 colours that we may expect to see, and now a leaker known as Unknownz21 on X (aka Twitter) has provided yet another list of likely colour choices for the base model (via MacRumors).
- – Pink / Rose Gold / Blush Gold
- – Green
- – Blue
- – Yellow
- – Orange (inconsistent mentions)
- – Black / Midnight / Dark / Basalt
According to the leaker, these are the colours that Apple has tested for the vanilla iPhone 15 over its various development stages.
However, because Apple releases its non-Pro phone duos in the same colour variants, this should also apply to the iPhone 15 Plus. That is also true for the Pro models, albeit with fewer options and typically more muted colours.
Some of the colours indicated by the leaker correspond to the color-matching USB-C cables that made headlines just yesterday. There were USB-C cables that were coloured black, yellow, pink, blue, and violet.
Obviously, the violet-colored USB-C cable does not correspond to any of the alternatives stated by Unknownz21 in his post, however it could be for the rumoured Starlight variant. There is also no green cable to match one of the variations listed by the leaker. Furthermore, there has been no mention on the Product RED colour that we expect the iPhone 15 to come in, as prior generations have.
The USB-C cables should be a solid starting point for a more realistic notion of the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus colours, which are Black (Midnight), Yellow, Pink, Blue, and White (Starlight). Then, Green and Orange may be the two colours Apple is considering for the spring, when the corporation will provide a new colour option for its next generation of iPhones in order to promote sales.
