Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘OMG 2’ is set intended for a big Bollywood clash with actor Sunny Deol’s action movie ‘Gadar 2’.
To make the greatest of the extended Independence Day weekend, the makers unbolted the booking for the upcoming movies closely two weeks before their release on August 11.
Both movies have established an overwhelming response regarding the booking numbers, with just a week left for the premiere. The box-office commercial chasing portal Sacnilk Entertainment opens the numbers.
The Deol-starrer sold around 56,000 tickets, amounting to Rs 1.47 crore for the opening day, leave-taking the Day 1 collection of ‘OMG 2’ far late at Rs 25 lakh for just 7,300 tickets.
When the movie opened for loan booking, the tracker had reported that the Day 1 collection for ‘Gadar 2’ was Rs 10 lakh; afterward, 4,500 tickets were sold. Meanwhile, the Day 1 collection for ‘OMG 2’ was Rs 2 lakh for just 500 tickets four hours after booking opened for the movie. Kumar is returning for ‘OMG 2’, a much-awaited development to Paresh Rawal-starrer ‘OMG: Oh my God’, a commercial success 2012.
The recently-released trailer of the mocking comedy-drama presents a compelling narrative of an ordinary man stand-up up to the school administration in a court of law and seeking righteousness for his son. The three-minute-long trailer begins with Pankaj Tripathi’s atmosphere of Kanti Sharan Mudgal, a devotee of Lord Shiva, who is the complainant and the offender in the court.
Directed by Amit Rai, the picture also stars Yami Gautam, Arun Govil, Pawan Malhotra, and Govind Namdev. It is fashioned by Cape of Good Films, Ashwin Varde, and Vipul D Shah, besides Rajesh Bahl.
Meanwhile, ‘Gadar 2’ is the sequel of ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha,’ set thru the Partition of India in 1947, released in 2001. Film-maker Anil Sharma, who directed the first part, has also directed the sequel.
The much-anticipated sequel to Anil Sharma’s Gadar is prepared to go twenty years after the film’s release and commercial success. The flick is in full swing in preparation for its August 11 release. Despite the box headquarters clash with the Akshay Kumar starrer, the film has shown remarkable sales in early payment ticket bookings.
As per Business tracker Sacnilk, as of August 5, 9 PM, around 110K tickets for Gadar 2 had now been sold, totaling approximately 2.80 crores in revenue. The show has sold almost 31K tickets in three national chains, with PVR taking the lead with 15K tickets on opening day. The nationwide chains’ advancements were launched yesterday, and the reaction has been nothing short of devastating.
