Every Android phone user will find Google Play Music in their phones and many of them like or prefer to use the app to listen to their favourite playlists. But, from October 2020 Google Play Music will not work in India. The app will be taken down and replaced by YouTube Music.
YouTube Music offers over 50 million official tracks, albums and high-quality audio, as well as deep cuts, B-sides, live performances, and remixes. It will be the heir to Google Play Music by the end of 2020.
Although Google Play Music will not work from October, you will still have another 2 months time till December to transfer your music libraries including playlists, uploads, purchases, likes and more to YouTube Music.
Users won’t be able to purchase and pre-order music or upload and download music from Google Play Music through Music Manager from August. YouTube has already started helping Google Play Music users to transfer their content to YouTube Music since May.
YouTube said in an official blog post: “To ensure users don’t lose any of their content, they’ll need to use the simple transfer tool to migrate any purchases over to YouTube Music or use Google Takeout to export data and download their purchased and uploaded music.”
YouTube has also brought new features and improvements to YouTube Music.
- Assistive Playlist Creation – You can quickly and easily create playlists by adding recommended songs based on existing songs in the playlist, as well as personalized signals, such as watch history and likes.
- Collaborative Playlists – You will also get the option to collaborate with other music fans to create shared playlists for any occasion.
