According to rumors, Apple is working on a bezel-less iPhone! Samsung and LG have been asked to develop bezel-less OLED displays for future iPhone models. However, making a bezel-less iPhone is not an easy task. To achieve this, Apple will need to move all the electronic parts that currently reside in the bezel, under the screen.
bezel-less iPhone Details and Rumors
The “thin film encapsulation” and “under-panel cameras” technologies have to make significant strides in order to achieve this. TFE is a layer of defense for the screen, which is constructed from several, extremely thin layers of unique material. The OLED display is shielded by this “layer” from exposure to and harm from oxygen.
Apple is looking to make these protective layers even thinner than they currently are for bezel-less iPhones. Similarly, the company plans to give the iPhone a full-screen experience by not only slimming down the bezels but also placing sensors like the front camera and Face ID below the screen.
Although the same technology is already used in some Android models, but the image clarity is not up to par due to the lack of thin enough screen layers. Imagine looking through a window with a mosquito net; You can see outside, but the mesh affects the quality of the view.
Apple is also understandably concerned with antenna attrition for its bezel-less iPhone, which is a significant issue. Antenna impervious which is excellent material for signal transmission. This is the reason why we can also see plastic lines on the stainless steel frames used in iPhones. However, these lines have been raised on their quality as their use can have an impact on the durability of the phone.
They may not be sufficient to solve the problem if plastic frames used for bezel-less iPhones to perform smooth signal traffic are used. This potential problem of Apple may delay it a bit in developing their new iPhone.
They are, however, close to coming up with a solution and are interested to see how, as time goes on, they will require new technology to create a better and newer iPhone. Along the way, we’ll learn how the business overcomes these obstacles and gives iPhone owners a fresh, distinctive smartphone experience.
