There have been multiple rumors and leaks about the upcoming MacBooks, powered by the Apple silicon but there seems to be a new twist to this tale. Apple has taken a decisive decision to drop Intel and make products based on its own chip, giving themselves for flexibility and ultimately helping to make an ecosystem of ARM-powered devices.
We have heard some aggressive leaks about both the ARM-based 12-inch MacBook and the new 13-inch MacBook Pro, with a suggested launch date of sometime in October. On the other hand, the iPhone 12’s launch still remains to be in next month, there seems to be uncertainty over the MacBook front, which was scheduled to be launch in a second event slated in October.
But, now, according to the tipster @komiya_kj, there will not be any unveiling event in October, however, the Cupertino giant was confident during its 2020 WWDC keynote that the first ARM-based MacBook would arrive later this year itself.
Obviously, this single tweet can have a lot of sides to it – maybe Apple will not be doing any formal launch but restrict it only to a press release and a blog announcement. Although it seems very unlikely that Apple will not be doing a formal launch as it will mark the company’s first own chip powered laptop.
Also, it might be possible that the Cupertino giant’s plan has taken a hit due to the pandemic and its hardware might or supplies might not be ready, but having the specs and pricing leaked already, it doesn’t make any sense to not to make any announcement. Apple could obviously do launches as it does in its certain timeline but might delay the availability a bit, but it’s true that for the first time, people are much more excited for the ARM-based MacBook.Â
Both the 12-inch MacBook and 13-inch MacBook Pro will be eye-catching this time for its specs, performance, and pricing. So, as for now, you can take the leak with a pinch of salt and wait for these new MacBooks to get announced sooner or later.
