Maruti Suzuki Fronx CNG launched in India

Maruti Suzuki Fronx: CNG appears to be the ideal diesel substitute for many manufacturers. With a strong CNG range to offer its consumer base, Maruti Suzuki is at the forefront of that. The firm fully abandoned diesel engines, including the recently created DDIS 225.

One of Maruti’s most recent automobiles, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, is now equipped with S-CNG. Price ranges for the Maruti Suzuki Fronx CNG begin at Rs. 8,41,500 for the base Sigma trim and Rs. 9,27,500 for the base Delta trim. S-CNG is not available in the Zeta and Alpha trims at the top.

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is by far Maruti Suzuki’s most attractive offering. It has a variety of characteristics, including an incredibly efficient CNG powertrain, a practical 1.2L NA petrol, and even a 1.0L turbo petrol powertrain with a high enjoyment factor. Maruti Suzuki claims a fuel economy of 28.51 km/kg with the S-CNG package.

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx CNG will receive a supplementary ECU to direct the engine to burn CNG effectively, just like previous S-CNG vehicles.

A fire extinguisher, a CNG tank in the boot, and modified suspension to handle the added weight of the S-CNG kit. A CNG level bar and a switch to adjust the fuel preference while driving will be shown in the instrument cluster.

Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer of Marketing & Sales at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, proudly presented the Maruti Suzuki Fronx S-CNG. He emphasizes that this vehicle is designed to appeal to customers who value innovation and care for the environment. Since its debut at the recent Auto Expo, the FRONX has garnered tremendous interest due to its sporty design, advanced powertrain, and premium technology.

Maruti Suzuki has a strong history in CNG vehicles, having sold over 1.4 million S-CNG models since introducing the first one in 2010. This achievement reflects the trust and confidence customers have in their technology. Mr. Srivastava expresses optimism that the FRONX S-CNG will contribute to increasing the sales share of S-CNG cars and enhance their comprehensive green mobility lineup, which currently boasts an impressive 15 models, making it the best in the industry.

This S-CNG kit from Maruti Suzuki is mated to its tried-and-true 1.2L 4-cylinder NA petrol engine. When powered by petrol, this bi-fuel engine produces close to 90 PS and 113 Nm of torque, and when powered by compressed natural gas, 77.5 PS and 98.5 Nm of torque are produced. Maruti Suzuki S-CNG is equipped with a lone 5-speed gearbox.

Maruti Suzuki should have used dual-cylinder technology, just like Tata Motors does with its Altroz i-CNG. Additionally, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx CNG is only offered in lower trims, making it seem like a poor man’s alternative. instead of offering a broad range of powertrain options like Tata Motors. It would be wonderful to have CNG automobiles with more features.
