Carlo Ancelotti is set to become the next head coach of Brazil, ahead of the 2024 Copa America. The Italian’s contract with Real Madrid runs out at the end of the season, and he will respect his contract with the club before embarking on a new journey.

The decision has been confirmed by CBF president Ednaldo Rodrigues, who also revealed that Fernando Diniz would be taking charge of the national team for the rest of 2023. One of the main reasons behind it is the similarity in playing styles between the two sets of coaches.

Speculation has been rife surrounding Carlo Ancelotti’s future over the past few months. The 64-year-old has confirmed that he does not want to manage any other club other than Madrid at this point in his career. As a result, he will be moving into international management after arguably the most decorated career of all in club management.

“We went after him not only due to his record, but also because he is a decent person,” Ednaldo Rodrigues told beIN Sports recently.

“Those who have worked with him say that he is open, cultured, and he appreciates Brazilian football.”

Negotiations have taken place over the last few months for Ancelotti to make the move, and an agreement is now in place. He will be the first foreigner in over 60 years to take charge of the Brazil National team.

He has already developed a great relationship with the Brazilian Real Madrid players such as Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, Casemiro and Eder Militao. And now, he will also be managing them in the national team from the 2024 Copa America.
