India vs Kuwait preview: The finals of the 2023 SAFF Championship will see India take on Kuwait for the second time in the tournament. The last time the two sides met during matchday 3 of the group stage ended in a draw, with Anwar Ali’s mis-kick ending up in the back of the net to level things up in the final few minutes of the game.

India have now entered the top 100 of the FIFA rankings, while Kuwait remain 141st in the overall rankings. And given the kind of form the Blue Tigers have shown over the last few months, they are heading in as the favourites to win the 2023 SAFF Championship even though it will be a very difficult match to call.

Throughout the tournament, India have defended really well and the only goal they conceded was against Kuwait. Although that was an own goal, their streak of keeping clean sheets was broken and the team will be determined to not let it happen again.

Both coaches are expected to field their strongest lineups, and India skipper Sunil Chhetri is expected to start the game alongside Ishan Mishra, Sandesh Jhingan, Anirudh Thapa and Sahal Samad on the back of their remarkable form.

The head-to-head record between the two teams is 2-1 in the favour of Kuwait. And this time, India will be aching to make it 2-2 and lift their second trophy in two months.
