Samsung Galaxy S23 FE: A First Look at Design Refresh with 360 Video and 5K Renders

Samsung is continuing its tradition of offering high-end specifications at an affordable price with the upcoming release of the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE (Fan Edition) later this year. Despite conflicting reports, it has been confirmed that the Galaxy S23 FE does exist, and Samsung plans to launch it. Smartprix, in collaboration with renowned tipster OnLeaks, has obtained exclusive design renders of the Galaxy S23 FE.

Everything About the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE Known So Far

The leaked design renders reveal a triple-camera setup, a feature expected to be carried over from its predecessor. Remarkably, the smartphone is expected to incorporate a telephoto camera sensor, a feature that is rarely found in devices at this price point. The camera module has been redesigned compared to the previous S21 FE model.

In terms of design, the Galaxy S23 FE bears a resemblance to the Galaxy A54 model in Samsung’s current lineup. The smartphone is expected to feature a flat display with a size of around 6.4 inches. The display will have a centered selfie camera and an under-display fingerprint sensor for improved security. The rear panel of the Galaxy S23 FE showcases a sleek design, with three camera sensors seamlessly protruding from the surface, eschewing the need for a separate camera island. The bezels around the display appear slightly wider compared to the S21 FE.

Based on the dimensions, the Galaxy S23 FE is expected to have a sleek and compact design, measuring approximately 158 x 76.3 x 8.2mm. The device’s design enables convenient single-handed use and provides a comfortable grip.

In terms of performance, rumors suggest that the Galaxy S23 FE might be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC, a powerful chipset used in various flagship phones. Initial reports speculated that the device could also come with the Exynos 2200 chipset in some markets. It is probable that the phone will include a 120Hz AMOLED screen, although the specific display dimensions have not been officially announced. As for storage choices, rumors suggest that the Galaxy S23 FE will offer either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. The phone is expected to have a 4500mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging.

One potential upgrade is the primary camera, with rumors suggesting a 50MP sensor similar to those found in the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S23 smartphones. This improvement would enhance the photography experience compared to the previous Galaxy S23 FE model, which had a 12MP camera. Further details about the other camera sensors are currently limited.

Although Samsung has not provided an official launch date for the Galaxy S23 FE, there are speculations that it might be unveiled simultaneously with the next iterations of Samsung’s foldable phones, namely the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. These devices are expected to be revealed during the second part of the Samsung Unpacked Event, slated to take place on July 26, 2023.
