Former Barcelona player and assistant coach Eusebio Sacristan feels Xavi Hernandez will eventually take charge at Camp Nou
If Quique Setien is sacked, then Xavi is most likely to succeed him. Eusebio thinks Xavi will have a similar effect like Pep Guardiola had at Barcelona.
Eusebio told Mundo Deportivo: “Just as I always say about Ronald Koeman I say about Xavi. Their experience at Barca as reference players is very positive because they know what the club is like, its philosophy and the environment.
“Xavi has wanted to be a coach and surely he is very clear about what he wants. His ability to absorb concepts is enormous, like when he was a player, and that surely helps him. He may lack some experience in the elite, but Pep (Guardiola) was also lacking when he took the team and you saw how it worked. It would not be a handicap and also knows the locker room.”
Barcelona captain Lionel Messi also seems unhappy with Setien and wants some big changes. Maybe Xavi can come to Barcelona and finally steady the ship and steer it in the right direction.
