Amazon Prime Video has dropped the official warmesy trailer of The Summer I Turned Pretty. After getting a huge response in the first season a coming-of-age enthusiast’s origin for Belly entered first into love and self-discovery in Season 1. Season 2 is just knocking on the door, the Prime Video series adapted from Jenny Han’s best-selling books that have promised to double the entertainment with the more eventful summer at Cousins Beach.

We will see Lola Tung will reprise her role as 16-year-old Belly. She will continue to get her footing as she comes back to Cousins Beach over the summer, especially since she is now stuck in a confusing love triangle with the Fisher brothers.

In the next season, we will enter into the second book from Han’s trilogy, entitled It’s Not Summer Without You. The story follows Belly used to count down the days before she could come back to Cousins Beach. The danger comes while Conrad and Jeremiah fight over her heart and the return of Susannah’s cancer, after this she becomes unsure about whether the summer will ever be the same or not. After the threat of an unexpected visitor, the future of Susannah’s beloved house, Belly has to rally the gang to come together. Due to this Belly has to decide once and for all where her heart falls for.

The first season of the series was hit in 2021, before the first season The Summer I Turned Pretty had already been renewed for the second season. On July 25, 2022, we got a big update on the official Twitter handle for the series. Unfortunately, Minnie Mills, who played the role of Steven’s love interest Shayla in Season 1, will not appear in Season 2. On her Instagram account, the actress shared a heartfelt goodbye message:

“To everyone who loved Shayla, who felt empowered or inspired by her, she will always be in the first season for you to come back to whenever you need her, and if I ever get the chance, I would love to continue her story. Thank you for supporting her, and thank you for supporting me. I could not have asked for a better cast, crew, or character for my first acting role, and I cannot wait to see what’s next.”

For the second season Prime Video has declared two new additions to The Summer I Turned Pretty ensemble. Kyra Sedgwick and Elsie Fisher will play the roles this season but it still needs official confirmation.
