The Argentine has accepted the contract proposal from David Beckham’s club and is now set to join them for the coming season as the biggest signing in the history of the MLS.
There were rumours that La Liga has approved the financial viability plan presented by Barcelona, but no formal offer was made to Messi. The player’s father and agent, Jorge, publicly expressed that his son wants to return to Barcelona this summer. Both sides were aware of the constraints and trying to find a solution to make the transfer happen. But, it now seems like their efforts have been for naught.

PSG manager Christophe Galtier had confirmed that Lionel Messi will be leaving the club at the end of the season, and that their match against Clermont will be his last for the French side. Although PSG have issued a formal correction, saying that Galtier misspoke, the formal statement has now brought his stay to an end, as expected.
The player was in talks with the board to renew his contract, and after the World Cup, there was a verbal agreement to renew. However, they could not iron out the details of the contract.
