Andrea Pirlo has left his job as head coach of Turkish club Fatih Karagumruk after spending eleven years in charge. He was appointed last June, and has left the club ninth in the Turkish Super Lig.
The Italian had signed a one-year contract when he joined the club, and was let go early. There were several Turkish clubs trying to sign him, but he has decided to wait and assess his options as he believes he is ready for a return to Europe’s big leagues.

“Since we can’t continue with Mr Andrea Pirlo and his staff next season, we gave them permission to leave soon hoping it will give them a chance to plan their future,” the club said in a statement.
Pirlo was previously in charge of Juventus, one of the clubs where he made a name for himself as an elite midfielder. However, he left the club after winning the Coppa Italia title, but failing to come up big in the Champions League and Serie A in his only season in charge.
It now remains to be seen as to where the iconic midfielder goes in his relatively young managerial career. A return to one of the big leagues in Europe could be on the cards, but only time will tell where he finds a suitable opportunity.
