Brighton qualify for Europe for the first time in their history: Big summer transfers expected

Brighton have officially qualified for continental football for the first time in their history. The Seagulls picked up a 3-1 win over relegated Southampton to secure qualification. At least more points from their last two games could see them finish sixth and make it to the Europa League.

Their last two games are against Manchester City and Aston Villa, with the latter promising to be an intense showdown to see who makes it to the Europa League.

In spite of Graham Potter’s departure to Chelsea earlier in the season, things have not changed for Brighton. Roberto De Zerbi came in and had them performing just as well, if not better. He has won against Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United during his time in charge so far, and has simply been outstanding.

In spite of their remarkable achievement, they are set to part ways with Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo this summer. Liverpool’s James Milner is set to join the club on a free transfer alongside Mahmoud Dahoud from Borussia Dortmund.

Brighton have already announced the arrival of Joao Pedro from Watford next season and the youngster should add a lot more firepower to their attack in the coming season.

It will be interesting to see how they perform with the additional pressure of playing in mid week alongside the Premier League. More reinforcements can be expected in the summer to cope with the extra pressure of the games to come next term.
