Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus Cheek could be the first sale of the summer as the club looks to clear out their squad. The midfielder is in talks with AC Milan and is interested in joining them this summer.

Talks are progressing well between the two clubs and could be finalised soon. Loftus Cheek has been in and out of the starting line-up, and has often been used at right wing-back in the absence of Reece James.

Ruben Loftus Cheek in talks with Milan for summer transfer

The Cobham academy product has been identified as a priority target in midfield for the Rossoneri. And he would be reunited with fellow Chelsea academy graduate Fikayo Tomori, and former Blues striker Olivier Giroud at the club should the transfer go through.

The former Scudetto winners progressed to the Champions League semi final this season. But, they were eliminated by their rivals, Inter, and their midfield was severely lacking over the two legs.

Ruben Loftus Cheek is renowned for his technical ability and his skills on the ball.  However, things haven’t clicked for him with Chelsea, especially after his ACL injury. He was a part of their Champions League winning squad in 20/21, but has failed to lock down a regular starting role.

He will seemingly be the first of a long list of players to leave the club this summer as they look to raise funds through player sales, and trim the squad size down.
