On May 19, the Redmi A2 will debut in India. The sub-brand of Xiaomi announced on Twitter on Friday that the new A-series smartphones have arrived in the nation. The upcoming model is said to have an octa-core processor and a 5,000mAh battery.

In March, a few global markets saw the release of the Redmi A2 series, which included the standard Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+. They have a 6.52-inch HD+ LCD screen and a MediaTek Helio G36 SoC. They have a dual 8-megapixel back camera unit.

The introduction of the Redmi A2 series is scheduled to take place in India on May 19 at 11:00 AM IST, according to a tweet from Redmi India. The company’s India website has a special microsite that teases the details of the upcoming devices. Redmi A2 series models for India have been tipped to include an octa-core chipset and a 5,000mAh battery.

Currently, it is unknown what the mobile phones will cost. The Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ are anticipated to launch as budget options. To acquire the most recent information about the launch, interested clients can visit the website and click the “Notify Me” button.

Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ were both introduced in March in Europe. They have a 6.52-inch HD+ (1600×720 pixels) LCD screen with a 20:9 aspect ratio and run Android 12 (Go edition). The phones have a waterdrop-shaped notch on the screen where the selfie camera is located. A MediaTek Helio G36 SoC along with up to 3GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 32GB of onboard eMMC 5.1 storage power the Redmi A2 series of smartphones.

A primary 8-megapixel sensor and a QVGA camera have been included in the dual back camera arrangement. There includes a 5-megapixel front camera for taking selfies and video chat. The Redmi A2 series has 5,000mAh batteries and supports 10W fast charging. For biometric authentication, the Redmi A2+ includes a fingerprint scanner.
