WhatsApp will enable users to transfer chats from one iPhone to another without iCloud

Only those iPhone users who have generated a Chat Backup and uploaded it to iCloud can currently move their chat history and media to another iPhone. To smoothly transfer their chat history, users only need to install WhatsApp on their new phone, log in with the same number, and then use their old iPhone to scan a QR code displayed on the new device. This is made possible by the new feature, “Transfer Chats to iPhone.”

All About WhatsApp’s New Feature!

According to WaBetaInfo, the new built-in solution offers a significant advantage to users who are restricted to the 5GB of free iCloud storage and do not have the space for backing up their chats on Apple’s servers. Only a limited number of beta testers who have the most recent WhatsApp beta for iOS downloaded via the TestFlight app can presently use the new chat transfer feature. Although it’s anticipated that more people will receive the feature over the next few days, it’s unclear when it will be accessible to regular WhatsApp users.

The disclosure last week that parent firm Meta was introducing support for multi-device login for more than one phone was followed by news that the feature was in testing. With the update, users will no longer be restricted to only one phone and a few desktop machines, but will instead be able to connect to the same WhatsApp account on up to four phones. Users’ communications will be synchronized across different devices, including other phones, with the new functionality, which is reportedly rolling out to all users in the upcoming weeks. Therefore, even if one device is off, they can still access the app on other devices.

Another story claims that WhatsApp is developing a new upgrade that would enable users to annotate media that has been forwarded. Through the Google Play Beta Program, the well-known instant messaging service, which is owned by Meta, has released a beta version of the update. The ability to add explanations to transmitted photos, videos, GIFs, and documents has already been made available to some beta testers who have implemented the upgrade.
