James Maddison is likely to be sold this summer even if Leicester City manage to avoid relegation this season. The midfielder has been in fine form, and finally earned a call-up to the England national team under Gareth Southgate.

But, he will probably want to move on to a bigger challenge now that the Foxes are battling relegation. The likes of Manchester United, Newcastle United and Tottenham are keeping tabs on his situation and could negotiate a transfer with the club.

“He’s always looking to see what he can do better. He’s really engaging in the meetings we have and tactical meetings, and very vocal as well. I can see that similarity (with Grealish) of wanting to push himself,” Leicester manager Dean Smith said.

“I’m liking what I’m seeing in training so far and he’s not disappointed in the games either. All the players are really focused and James is certainly one of them.”

Leicester City are likely to ask for a fee between £45 to £60 million for their star playmaker in the summer. Maddison has made a name for himself over the course of the five seasons he has spent with them. This campaign, he has scored nine goals and has provided seven assists as well.

The Foxes have endured losses worth £92.5 million this summer and need to balance the books. Alongside James Maddison, Youri Tielemans and Caglar Soyuncu are also expected to leave in the summer to find a new club.
