Brighton reach agreement to sign Joao Pedro from Watford
The 21-year-old was close to signing for Newcastle United this past summer. But the deal ultimately fell through and he stayed at Watford. The player extended his contract with the Hornets until 2028 in September as well. But, he has now decided to move on and join the exciting project in place at Brighton.
He has played 35 games and scored 11 goals in the Championship, while providing four assists. And with an impressive attacking squad under Roberto De Zerbi, it will be very interesting to see how things work out for him.
Brighton have arguably lacked a regular goalscoring centre-forward, with De Zerbi rotating Evan Ferguson and Danny Welbeck. With the arrival of an exciting young centre-forward like Joao Pedro, it seems like the team will only get better from next season onwards.
