Highly rated Brazilian youngster Estevao has signed his first professional contract with Palmeiras until 2026. The 16-year-old has attracted interest from some of the top clubs in Europe such as Barcelona, and is now set to feature for the first team with a formal contract in place.
He has been nicknamed ‘Messinho’ due to his similarities to the Argentine maestro. And at the youth level, he has already shown signs of being a great prospect destined for the top levels of football.
Estevao signs first professional contract with Palmeiras
“Today is a very special day in my life. I thank Palmeiras, my representatives and my family for always being by my side,” the youngster said upon the official announcement of his first contract.
“Palmeiras is a giant club, which offers all the necessary structure for its athletes, and my main objective is to win many titles for the club.”
The terms of the contract were already agreed before he came of age. And it has now been formalised upon his 16th birthday. Estevao can play as an attacking midfielder, as well as a right-winger.
In 2022, he put up some very impressive numbers, scoring 23 goals and eight assists in 34 games at the U-17 level, and finishing as the top scorer in his category. He will now play alongside Endrick, who has already sealed a transfer to Real Madrid and is waiting to come of age to make the move.
