Eduardo Camavinga has had a rocky start to life at Real Madrid, to say the least. The player made the move to the Bernabeu at the age of 18 from Rennes, after a lot of hype surrounding him.
Naturally a midfielder, Camavinga has found it hard to play regularly in his favoured position. His form has been inconsistent, and things haven’t been made any easier for him given the fact that he has mostly played at left-back this season. But in the most recent El Clasico against Barcelona, he performed brilliantly.

The youngster will have spent two years with Los Blancos following his deadline day €31 million move from Rennes. And the board have decided to reward him with a new contract, as he is seen as a vital part of their future.
The eventuality that Toni Kroos and Luka Modric will need to be replaced is coming closer, even though both are performing at their best. Eduardo Camavinga’s presence in the squad suggests that Madrid already have their replacement, given that there is plenty of time for him to develop further.
Both the board and Carlo Ancelotti are very happy with what they have seen from the 20-year-old. As a result, discussions surrounding a better wage, and a higher release clause will take place in the coming months with the player’s entourage.
