Lionel Messi has now become one of the only three players in history to have scored over a 100 international goals. The Argentine skipper scored one goal against Panama and three against Curacao to take his overall tally to 102 goals for the Argentina national team.

His eternal rival, Cristiano Ronaldo, is currently the top scorer in international football, with 122 goals to his name. The Portuguese forward surpassed Ali Daei’s tally of 109 goals to achieve the record, and has been adding to it quite quickly.

1) Brazil (five)

2) France (three)

3) Croatia (three)

4) Spain (two)

5) Netherlands (one)

6) Portugal (one)

On the other hand, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 14 goals against the biggest countries in the following manner:

1) Netherlands (four)

2) Belgium (three)

3) Spain (three)

4) France (two)

5) Argentina (one)

Both players have won their continental trophies, but only Messi has won the World Cup. Ronaldo is one of the most successful in terms of club football, wherever he has gone, but he hasn’t won the holy grail of football in his career.
