FIFA president Gianni Infantino has confirmed plans for a new FIFA game, which will rival the new titles made by EA Sports. The partnership with EA ended recently, with FIFA 23 being the last title to be released as part of their deal.
The reason behind the termination was the spike in licensing fee from $150 million to $250 million a year. And thus, the association which has been in place since 1994 was ended.
New FIFA game to be released as rival to EA Sports
“The new Fifa game – Fifa 25, 26, 27 and so on – will always be the best e-game for any girl or boy, we will have news on this very soon,” Gianni Infantino said at his re-election ceremony recently.
“eFootball is part of the future. The new FIFA game will always be the best game experience for any young person. We are working on that and very soon you’ll have the news.”
This is one of the many new changes that Infantino has proposed. Some of the already confirmed ones include the expansion of the Club World Cup to 32 teams, and the FIFA World Cup to 48 teams. There are also talks over a rework of the offside rule to give an advantage to the attacker. More information on that can be expected once the new technology has been tested.
