ATK Mohun Bagan defeated Bengaluru FC 4-3 on penalties to win the 22/23 ISL title. The two teams could not be separated after 120 minutes of open play, with the scoreline reading 2-2 at the end.
Bruno and Perez failed to convert their penalties as Bengaluru FC ended up taking home silver medals from the final. They fought valiantly until the end, but were unable to get the better of Vishal Kaith.

Petratos shines once again
Dimitri Petratos was chosen as the replacement for David Williams and Roy Krishna, and what a choice he has proven himself to be. The Australian scored thrice from the spot in the final, and was named the hero of the match.
He has finished the campaign with the same number of goals as Golden Boot winner Diego Mauricio (12). But, having done so in two extra games, he missed out on the award to the Odisha FC man.

Bengaluru FC owner Parth Jindal took to Twitter to call for the introduction of VAR in the ISL, following some ‘shocking’ decisions in the final. To this, Kerala Blasters fans were quick to respond following their semi-final controversy, which led to them walking out.
