Redmi 9C may come as a POCO smartphone in India

Xiaomi Redmi has recently launched the Redmi 9A and 9C a few days ago and both are very low budget smartphones with limited specifications. These smartphones are the entry-level phones of the series and come with toned-down specs for the millenniums. The model number of the Redmi 9C is M2006C3MI and it was spotted in various certification sites during launch. At the time of launch, the company has not specified any global launch of the device or especially in India.

India being the main market for all the smartphone brands after China so we have a report that POCO is coming with a very budget-oriented smartphone in India that will be even cheaper than the POCO M2 Pro. Meanwhile, we came across a piece of news where we spotted the Redmi 9C with the same model number M2006C3MI in TÜV Rheinland and India’s BIS certification websites but it came out to be under the POCO branding.

BIS Certification of new POCO device

The BIS certification clearly shows the model number of Redmi 9C but under the brand name of POCO. It means that POCO is again rebranding another Redmi smartphone to launch in India after the POCO M2 Pro which was the rebranded Redmi Note 9 Pro in India.

Redmi 9C sports a 6.53-inch HD+ (720×1,600 pixels) LCD Dot Drop display with 20:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by octa-core MediaTek Helio G35 SoC and is paired with up to 4GB RAM. The onboard storage is expandable via a microSD card (up to 512GB). It runs Android 10 with MIUI 11 on top.
