The legendary English pacer, James Anderson, is once again the number one bowler in test cricket, by dethroning the long streak of the Australian skipper Pat Cummins. The latest ICC test ranking has been released, and fans found James Anderson at the top of the list, as he finished with taking seven wickets in their first test against New Zealand and eventually helped his team to earn a victory over their opposition by a huge margin of 267 runs.

James Anderson acheiveing this feat in his career for the sixth time

The legendary pacer also secured another feat by earning the achievement of being the best bowler in the world for the sixth time. He achieved this position first in May 2016 and was last at the top in November 2018 before Kagiso Rabada eventually dethroned him.

Even at the age of 40, when people eventually retire, James Anderson is still proving himself as one of the best in the business. Players retire way before coming to this age, and being the very best, as per the ICC ranking at this time, is indeed insane.

Oldest Bowler to achieve the feat

Besides, James Anderson is also the oldest bowler to achieve this beat, as he broke the record of Clarrie Grimmett of Australia, who did the same back in 1936. Anderson is currently 40 years and 207 days old, which is an age that hardly any players could think of to play.

And keeping this factor besides, the pacer has served his country greatly, avoiding any kind of leagues all over the world, and even shows no signs of retirement too. Ashwin is currently behind him in the ICC’s ranking of the best bowlers, and Pat Cummins, who has been dethroned from the top spot, has gone third.
