A close source of the developments said that,
“Udanta Singh Kumam will join FC Goa from Bengaluru FC on a multi-year deal in the summer window.”
Simon Grayson used him this season as an influential substitute who contributed two assists in twelve appearances. Goa was behind the winger for a long time now and is finally successful in having it accomplished. Udanta’s current contract with BFC stays till 2023 after he agreed to a three-year extension contract in the 2020-21 season.
More about the Udanta Singh
The 26-year-old Manipur player started his career with the Tata Football Academy and created an immediate impact in the U19 league, where he won the golden boot. He joined BFC in 2014, who were then the defending champions in the I-League.
Udanta kept improving with each season in BFC, and the team transitioned from I-League to the ISL, and he went on to upgrade his attacking techniques.
The next season, BFC emerged as the ISL champions, where he shined in Miku’s absence through injury and registered five goals with three assists. That form has been phenomenal that he’s struggled to get back ever since, registering just six goals and three assists from 72 appearances across the ISL and AFC Cup.
He has played 39 games for the national team, where his only goal came in a 5-0 win against Chinese Taipei in the 2018 Intercontinental Cup.
His tenure in his new club will be interesting to witness.
