Arsenal 3-2 Manchester United: Nketiah double seals 3 points in a brilliant game

Arsenal picked up a hard fought 3-2 win against Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium to maintain their five-point lead at the top of the Premier League table

All five of the goals scored during the game were eye-catching, and added significantly to the drama. But ultimately, the league leaders were able to find the winning goal at the dying stages to pick up all three points.

Arsenal defeat Manchester United thanks to Nketiah brace

Erik Ten Hag’s men opened the scoring courtesy of Marcus Rashford, who has scored nine since the World Cup – the most of any player in Europe’s top five leagues. The England international took the shot from long range to beat Aaron Ramsdale and take the lead.

But shortly after, Eddie Nketiah was able to equalise for the Gunners and the two teams went into the tunnel level at half time.

Bukayo Saka scored a world class goal from the right wing after cutting inside, and showing his class. However, it was cancelled out by a heroic effort from Lisandro Martinez, who launched a perfectly placed diving header to make it 2-2.

Arsenal showed immense class to dominate the game, and outplay United in the latter stages of the game. They dominated possession, and played some brilliantly linked up football to take the game to their rivals. And in the end, they got the goal they desperately wanted to pick up a huge win.

Manchester United, on the other hand, will be very disappointed to have not come away with a point even though they played very well against the league leaders. They remain in third place behind Newcastle United, but only on goal difference. As a result, while they can still make the top four, a title challenge looks increasingly less likely.
