Mykhaylo Mudryk seems set for a move to Arsenal. But, if the transfer window has taught us anything over the past year – it is that nothing is certain until the player is holding up the shirt of their new club.
So, while Mudryk is quite public about his appreciation for Arsenal, a move to the other side of London could be on the cards instead. Chelsea are keeping tabs on the Shakhtar Donetsk man, and are waiting to pounce in case his move to Arsenal collapses.
Chelsea interested in signing Mykhaylo Mudryk in January
Shakhtar Donetsk director Darijo Srna is expected to be at Stamford Bridge this week for Chelsea’s game against Manchester City. The Blues will discuss Mudryk in the coming day, but a move to North London remains his priority.
The Gunners had made an opening offer for the forward, which was promptly rejected. And they have been contemplating going back for him, despite having an agreement on personal terms.
Despite having a wealth of options out wide – such as Raheem Sterling, Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech, Chelsea consider Mykhaylo Mudryk to be the perfect winger for their plans. As a result, they are eager to make a move if there is an opportunity.
For Todd Boehly, the priority in the transfer market remains to sign Enzo Fernandez from Benfica. But, they haven’t been able to agree a deal with the Portuguese side just yet.
