MediaTek Dimensity chips have totally changed the game in the mid-range smartphone market, which is growing more these days. Also, 5G getting standardized more these days, there new mid-range devices with MediaTek Dimensity chips obviously have their own advantages as well, first of all they have 5G and has amazing performance.

In May’s top 10 mid-range smartphones on AnTuTu, there was none to beat the Dimensity 1000L and Oppo Reno 3 5G had dominated this list for quite some time now. But in June, as we expected, the entry of the new Dimensity 820 powered smartphones just totally changed the list now and we have a new leader in the form of Redmi 10X Pro 5G.

MediaTek Dimensity chips hold the crown when it comes to mid-range smartphones

Here are the top 10 mid-range Android phones as per June 2020:

  1. Redmi 10X Pro
  2. OPPO Reno 3
  3. Redmi 10X
  4. Honor 30
  5. Huawei Nova 7 Pro
  6. Huawei Nova 7
  7. Honor X10
  8. Honor 30S
  9. Huawei Nova 7 SE
  10. Oppo Reno 4 Pro

The Redmi 10X Pro 5G made a narrow win with 402,092 points being powered by the latest MediaTek Dimensity 820 chipset, beating the Oppo Reno 3 5G which scored 400,289 points. Technically, the Dimensity 1000L powered Reno 3 5G still should hold the first place as in May’s report we saw the phone scoring a whopping 403,607 points maybe because these statistics are collected in China only.

However, it is evident how powerful the Dimensity 820 chipset is, beating Huawei’s Kirin 985 chipset which held the second place last month. The list is almost identical to the May’s report, only change being the addition of Dimensity 820 powered smartphones and the addition of Huawei Nova 7 Pro with Kirin 985. While the whole list is dominated by MediaTek and Huawei chipset, only the Oppo Reno 4 Pro 5G is left being powered by Snapdragon 765G.

There is no doubt that MediaTek has done an impressive job with its Dimensity series. It undoubtedly has an edge over its counterparts.
