Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to leave Liverpool at the end of his contract, which expires in 2023. The midfielder will not be renewing his contract with the club, as they have plans to sign a different midfielder in the summer transfer window.
Injuries have made it difficult for the player to get consistent playing time under Jurgen Klopp. 2019/20, when Liverpool won the Premier League title was his most prolific season, where he made 43 appearances across all competitions, scoring eight goals.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to leave Liverpool on a free transfer
When his contract expires, the former England international will be 29 years old. As a result, he will still have a few years to give at the top level, and a chance to play for another Premier League club.
Since joining from Arsenal, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has won every trophy available with Liverpool. And after enjoying a very successful spell with the team, he will have a new challenge to tackle from the 23/24 season.
Liverpool are now being linked strongly with a transfer for Jude Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund. However, they will have to compete with the likes of Real Madrid for his signature. Besides the Dortmund star, there are other targets who could be recruited. But it now remains to be seen who the Merseyside club recruits to replace Oxlade-Chamberlain.
