Liverpool have confirmed the contract renewal of their academy graduate, Curtis Jones. The 21-year-old has penned a new deal which takes his stay at Anfield till 2027. He is considered one of the key parts of the project in the future, and has committed formally now.
Since making his debut in 2019, he has made 81 appearances across all competitions and has scored eight goals so far.
Curtis Jones renews contract with Liverpool
“First of all, I want to thank the coaching staff for having the belief in me as always, for giving me the chance,” Curtis Jones told Liverpoolfc.com after putting pen to paper.
“And of course for me, I’m over the moon, I’m buzzing. It was an easy thing [to decide to renew].
“It’s my boyhood club, I’m a Scouser, I’ve supported the club for the whole of my life, so yeah, I’m buzzing and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
Amidst Liverpool’s injury crisis this season, the youngster could be given more chances in Premier League games. He has played four games in the league this season, and could prove to be a good rotational option for Jurgen Klopp once the packed fixture resumes after the World Cup break.
