Rick Karsdorp is expected to leave Roma in the January transfer window, after reports that he has already left the city. The Dutchman was excluded from the squad in their most recent game against Torino, and it seems like he won’t be a part of their line-up anymore.
Jose Mourinho branded him a ‘traitor’ and said that he had already asked Karsdorp to find a new club by January. Now, a transfer away seems like the only option out for the player, whose relationship with Mourinho has been shattered.
Jose Mourinho wants Rick Karsdorp out of Roma by January
“Rick Karsdorp’s exclusion? It was my decision. And I don’t have to explain the decisions I make. He knows why I excluded him, his teammates do too,” Mourinho said after the draw against Torino.
“There’s a player who betrayed everyone else’s effort,” Mourinho bluntly said on Thursday, after the game against Sassuolo. “I told him to find a new club by January.”
“It was a team that wanted to win against a tough opponent, I am sorry that the efforts of the team were betrayed by the attitude of one unprofessional player,” he told DAZN.
“An unprofessional attitude that is not fair to his teammates, that is what disappoints me. A point away from home is still not a negative result and I am happy with the general attitude of my squad.”
