Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro powered by Tensor G3 SoC has codenames Shiba and Husky

Even though the future Pixel 8 and 8 Pro smartphones aren’t slated to be released until the end of 2023, a recent report from WinFuture has uncovered some important information regarding the gadgets.

Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro details

According to the source, the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro have the codenames Shiba and Husky, respectively. This naming pattern seems to be consistent with Google’s Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, which are codenamed Panther and Cheetah, respectively.

Additionally, Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro come at a time when rumours are circulating that Google’s forthcoming flagship smartphones will be powered by the company’s Tensor G3 CPU, which will be made by Samsung utilizing a 3nm technology. According to additional reports, the chipset will be based on the Samsung Exynos 2300 SoC.

According to rumours, the future Tensor G3 CPU, code-named Zuma, will include the same Samsung G5300 modem as the Tensor G2 processor used in the Pixel 7 series today.

The Pixel 8 will reportedly have a display with a screen resolution of 2268 x 1080 pixels, while the Pixel 8 Pro would provide a screen resolution of 2822 x 1344 pixels, according to rumours on the specifications. It continues by saying that both devices would have up to 12GB of RAM. Take this with a grain of salt because the screen resolution doesn’t match that of previous Google Pixel devices.
