Jamie Vardy has become the first player in the Premier League aged over 30 to score 100 goals. The 35-year-old scored in Leicester City’s 4-0 win over Wolves after coming off the bench to remind the top flight exactly what he can do.

The number 9 is the third-highest goalscorer in the history of the club, with 165 goals across all competitions. He has not had as many goals this season, only opening his account yesterday, but has provided four assists in 12 games.

‘I’m delighted for him,’ said Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers. ‘He’s been amazing. Whether he starts or not, he gives us that hunger. He’s not a selfish player at all but he loves to score goals. Even when he’s not scoring, he still has an impact on the team.’

Jamie Vardy was back to his trademark shithousery after scoring against Wolves yesterday. The Englishman celebrated with a howling celebration, mocking a stadium full of home fans after a difficult 80 minutes.

The striker also set up James Madisson for his goal yesterday, capping off a very impressive outing at the Molineux. It now remains to be seen whether he can return to the starting line-up ahead of Patson Daka and Kelechi Iheanacho.
