Liverpool were defeated by Nottingham Forest by a 1-0 scoreline today, in what was only the second win of the season for Steve Cooper’s side. They have moved off the bottom of the table with the victory, and now have nine points.

Taiwo Awoniyi, a former Liverpool player for seven years, scored the match-winning goal for the home team. The forward never made a single appearance for the Merseyside club, but scored a very important goal to earn three points today.

Liverpool were without seven first team players due to an ever-growing injury list. In the initial few minutes, it seemed like they would be losing Mohamed Salah as well. However, it was nothing too serious for the Egyptian and he was able to carry on.

Dean Henderson had an incredible performance between the sticks, and had to put on a cap to beat the sun. But the goalkeeper was able to keep out Jurgen Klopp’s men until the very end to keep a clean sheet.

With the loss, Liverpool have only earned 16 points from a possible 33, and are 11 points behind league leaders Arsenal. Nottingham Forest, on the other hand, are showing signs of life and could avoid relegation with a consistent run of form.
