Barcelona are still in need of a makeover when it comes to their squad. The Spanish side are planning to offload all four of their current captains next summer – Gerard Pique, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Sergi Roberto.

The captains have all been at the club for a considerable amount of time and are on high wages. There are plans for all four players to be sold at the end of the season, ending their stays at the club.

Barcelona to sell all four captains next summer

🚨| Pique showed signs of discouragement in training today, affected by the whistles and his current situation. Under Xavi Hernandez, the club is undergoing a change in identity. And older players who are not contributing as actively on the pitch will be offloaded soon.

Gerard Pique has fallen down the pecking order quite sharply. The defender has been with Barcelona since 2008, and has made 613 appearances for the team, winning everything there is to win playing for them. Sergio Busquets has only ever played for the Blaugranas, and has made 691 appearances for the club.

Jordi Alba and Sergi Roberto have also been at the club for a while and have won multiple major honours. But, with their limited contributions to the team in matches and Barcelona’s need to cut down on their wage bill, a change of scenery could be in place next summer for all four of them.
