Nottingham Forest have announced the appointment of Filippo Giraldi as their new sporting director. He was formerly at Watford from 2014, and was responsible for deals involving Richarlison, Pervis Estupinan, and many more successful signings.
With him taking charge of the club, there will be hope for better management of the Tricky Trees. They had a very turbulent summer transfer window, bringing in around 22 players after the departure of many players following their loan spells or otherwise.
Nottingham Forest appoint Filippo Giraldi as new sporting director
Filippo Giraldi’s arrival has been confirmed by the Premier League club on their official website:
“Giraldi joins the Reds following nine years with Watford, originally as chief scout before becoming technical director in 2014.
“His time at the Hornets saw them enjoy five consecutive years in the top flight from 2015, including achieving their highest points total in the Premier League during the 2018/19 season, as well as reaching the 2019 FA Cup Final.”
The arrival of their new sporting director will help evaluate the different roles at the club and make changes accordingly. It now remains to be seen whether this can improve results for the newly promoted side and whether they can end up staying up this season.
