Erling Haaland breaks another Premier League record with 14th goal in 8 games

Erling Haaland has become the first-ever player to score three consecutive home hat-tricks in the Premier League. The Norwegian scored his third hat-trick in his Premier League career against Manchester United in the derby, achieving the feat in only eight games.

He was the only name on the scoresheet alongside Phil Foden, who also scored a hat-trick in the derby. And this resulted in the Sky Blues winning 6-3.

Erling Haaland the first to score three consecutive home game hat-tricks

In only 11 games this season, the youngster has scored 17 goals and provided three assists. His debut campaign in the English top flight has been nothing short of sensational so far. And considering the pace at which he is going, he could very well finish with more than 30 goals this season.

His hat-trick meant that he became the first Manchester City player to score a hat-trick against United since Francis Lee in 1970. And shortly after him, Phil Foden put his own name on the list.

Erling Haaland chose Manchester City’s project since it was best suited to him. The club needed a dependable number 9 after the departure of Sergio Aguero, and Haaland is proving to be exactly what Guardiola’s team needed to become complete.
