Twitter reveals its first ever edited tweet, but the feature is not available yet

On September 1, Twitter revealed that its team is now internally testing the long-awaited and desired edit button. And now the microblogging platform posted its first “edited” tweet.

“Hello. The tweet from Twitter Blue states, “This is a test to make sure the edit button works; we’ll let you know how it goes. “It was “last edited” at 2.27 am on September 30. A user can access the rival Facebook of Meta by clicking the “last edited” area, which directs them to a newly-introduced “edit history page” option.

As of now, altered tweets will have a tiny icon or badge that will say that the text in the tweet has been updated since it was posted. The edit history for any altered tweets will also be visible to you. Users can access the version history section by simply clicking or tapping on the line that reads “Last Edited.”

Twitter has previously stated that Twitter Blue members will get the capability before it becomes available to the entire public. Tweet editing is still not available to the general public. In addition to a number of another premium Twitter Blue members-only capabilities, such as the ability to undo tweets, ad-free content, and personalized app icons, this will add the feature to the list.

When Twitter revealed that the feature would soon be available, it sent out a tweet that drove users into a frenzy.

“We’re trying the edit button if you see an edited Tweet. The message stated, “This is occurring, but you’ll be fine.

Twitter stated that it is testing the editing tool on a smaller scale in order to detect and address any potential problems, such as how the feature might be abused. Tweets can be changed during the test for up to 30 minutes after they’ve been sent.

“To make it evident to readers that the original Tweet has been amended, edited Tweets will display an icon, timestamp, and label. The Tweet’s Edit History, which includes earlier iterations of the Tweet, may be accessed by tapping the label “The business also

However, when it launches, only users of Twitter Blue, a subscription service, will have access to the much-anticipated edit button. Currently, the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are the only countries where Twitter Blue is accessible.
