The watchOS has simplified the Apple watch experience and with wide range of features, the Apple Watch is undoubtedly the first choice for enthusiasts and fitness freaks. So, let’s see what Apple has got for you with the latest watchOS 7.

Complications

Each person has his or her own needs and leads a unique lifestyle so why not each has their own watch face according to their choice? This is what Apple is trying to do with Complications, you can now have multiple complications on a single face, and developers and can build rich complications.

What if someone like your customized watch face? You can easily share it with others as well or add watch faces from friends, websites, and apps. Long-press on a watch face you’ve made yourself, tap share, and send to a contact. Want to flaunt your watch face design? You can even share watch faces across social media also. Developers can even provide pre-made watch faces for you as well, an inspiration from Mi band?

Maps

Like what we saw with the iOS 14, the Maps on the Apple watch will also support cycling directions. This allows users to ride on bike lanes, paths, and roads. It even includes elevation data, stairs, elevation, traffic.

Workout 

Apple has added new Dance workout type that tracks when you are dancing be it any type of dance including Bollywood. It will use sensor fusion to detect dances using motion. Also there are new additions like Core training, Functional strength training and Cooldown.

Activity is now Fitness

The Activity app is renamed to Fitness app and its also redesigned as well with new Summary, workouts and trends, giving you an accurate view of the total detailed stats of the fitness your body.

Sleep tracking

Finally, your Apple Watch will be able to track sleep, which is surprising to see Apple has added so late. It tracks the rise and fall of your breath to detect your sleep patterns.

Like most other fitness bands or watches that track your sleep, the Apple Watch will to track it everyday and make an analysis for you and the Health app will show the data, wind downs, sleep schedules and highlights.

Wind Down

The Apple Watch will help you go to bed on time and wake up at the right time. The new “wind down” mode that minimizes distractions and create a routine. As its synced with your phone, it will now go into wind down mode with some shortcuts, and set notifications to do not disturb.

When it’s time to wake up you can do gentle haptic taps to wake you up without disturbing your partner, a feature that almost all smartwatches and bands offer these days. When you wake, there will be a greeting screen for you as well showing date, time, battery life and basic stuff.

Hand Washing 

To encourage your health and hygiene, Apple will be using machine learning to automatically track with your hand movements and the mic detects water, resulting whether you are washing your hands or not. While washing your hands, your watch will be setting a timer and encourage you to keep washing until you do it properly, also there’s audio and haptic notification when you’re done.

Among other features there will be language translation by Siri, recently introduced to iOS 14, on-device dictation, headphone audio detection and much more.
