Real Madrid 2-1 Atletico Madrid: Late scare for Los Blancos
Rodrygo opened the scoring for Los Blancos, after a botched clearance attempt from Felipe. The defender missed the ball completely, and Rodrygo made no mistake from close range to beat Jan Oblak.
Fede Valverde doubled their lead, scoring in his third straight game, with a thunderbolt of a strike after the ball ricocheted off the opposite post. Aurelien Tchouameni had an incredible game, dominating the midfield and making Real Madrid fans miss Casemiro a little less.
Mario Hermoso had an eventful end to the game, scoring in the 83rd minute off of his shoulder. And being sent off shortly after, failing to salvage a point from the derby. The two teams will now have a couple of weeks off due to the international break, where they can regroup.
