Despite not playing a competitive game for over 14 months, Roger Federer remains the highest paid tennis player in the world. The 41-year-old has been out of action since Wimbledon last year, following an operation on his knee.
Injuries have held the Swiss legend back for the past few years, but he remains the highest earning tennis player for the 17th year straight. Federer’s earnings are estimated at $90 million, factoring in sponsorships, endorsements, and appearance fees.

Naomi Osaka is second in the list of the highest paid tennis players in the world. The Japanese star earned a total of $56.2 million this past year. She launched a sports agency and has also opened a media group with NBA icon LeBron James.
The four-time Grand Slam winner is the highest paid female tennis player in the world right now.
Osaka is followed by Serena Williams – the 23-time Grand Slam champion who is set to retire after the 2022 US Open. Williams has earned $35.1 million this year. Her earnings surpass former men’s number ones Rafa Nadal ($31.4 million) and Novak Djokovic ($27.1 million). Djokovic recently declared that he won’t be playing in the US Open due to his vaccination status.
Emma Raducanu is next on the list, with the teenager earning $21.1 million this past year. And current world number one, Daniil Medvedev, has earnings in the region of $19.3 million.
