Barcelona have confirmed the activation of their third financial lever of the summer. The third and seemingly final lever is the sale of Barca Studios for a sum of €100 million to Socios, which will allow the club to register their new players.
Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, Jules Kounde, Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen have all joined the club this summer. And now, the main objective is to register them so that they can play in La Liga. This will be made possible due to the influx of cash from the third lever.
Barcelona activate third financial lever
Here is the official statement confirming the activation: “FC Barcelona announces the sale of 24.5% of Barça Studios to the company Socios.com for 100 million euros to accelerate the club’s audiovisual, blockchain, NFT and Web.3 strategy.
“The sale has been made in accordance with the authorisation of the General Assembly of FC Barcelona Members held last October 23.”
Barcelona are planning several outgoings for the summer, after confirming new arrivals. Oscar Mingueza and Clement Lenglet have left the club, and more could follow in the coming weeks.
The Spanish giants have also been linked with a move for Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva in the last few days. A sum worth £68 million has been rumoured as the potential fee to get the deal done. But any move for the Portugal international will only take place once the new signings have been registered.
