Nottingham Forest are plotting a move for Real Betis midfielder William Carvalho. The player only has one year remaining on his deal with the Spanish side. And he could be lured to the Premier League at the age of 30, with quite a bit of experience at the top level.

Betis were trying to sign Houssem Aouar from Lyon, and had plans to include Carvalho in the deal. But it now seems that he could sign for the newly promoted club instead if the two clubs can agree a deal.

William Carvalho could seal Premier League move soon

The player came through the Sporting Lisbon academy and was linked with a move to Arsenal a few years ago. But, he joined Real Betis in 2018 and has been on their books ever since. With them, he won the Copa del Rey this past season.

William Carvalho has also been successful for the Portugal national team. He has earned 72 caps playing for his country, and won the 2016 Euros as well as the inaugural Nations League.

A defensive minded midfielder, he would be able to provide the midfield with the solidity it needs against relentlessly attacking teams in the top division. However, it remains to be seen whether a deal can be arranged for the player to move to England at long last. Oreo Mangala is also expected to make the move in what is appearing to be a massive transfer window for Forest.
