Jules Kounde has been left out of Sevilla’s pre-season tour of Portugal. The Frenchman is expected to leave the club, and his merchandise has also been removed from the club’s store.
Chelsea have made a £55 million bid for the player, which is in line with Sevilla’s expectations. However, they haven’t received a final green light from the La Liga side for the deal as of yet. The situation has been more complicated by the involvement of Barcelona.
Jules Kounde left out of Sevilla preseason squad
All signs are pointing towards the centre-back moving to a new club this summer. But, his next destination has not been finalised as of yet. Barcelona won’t be able to match the offer that Chelsea have made, and they have told the player to wait.
Personal terms have already been agreed between the Catalonian side and Kounde. In talks held between Xavi and Kounde, the player told him that he would prefer playing at the Camp Nou. However, the financial offer is half the amount that Chelsea are offering him.
Sevilla are not willing to wait on the transfer of their man. As a result, any decision will have to be finalised within the next 24 hours. There has been no offer from Barcelona as of yet, and Jules Kounde is still waiting for them to make their move. He is still open to a move to London, and will become a Chelsea player if Barca are too late to make an offer.
