Juventus have reached an agreement with city rivals Torino for the transfer of Gleison Bremer. The Brazilian centre-back wanted to leave the club in search of European football, with Inter Milan emerging as one of the destinations.
However, following the sale of Matthijs De Ligt to Bayern Munich, the Bianconeri have moved fast to sign his replacement. The 25-year-old has agreed personal terms over a five-year deal until 2027, with a salary upwards of €5 million per season.
Gleison Bremer to join Juventus and replace De Ligt
The Bianconeri will be paying a sum worth €40 million plus €7 million for the transfer, after their proposal was accepted by Torino. Inter Milan were also trying to sign him, and offered a €30 million offer alongside Cesare Casadei.
However, the swift move from Juventus got the approval instead. And now, they have their replacement for Matthijs De Ligt for around half his transfer fee. The medical for Gleison Bremer will take place in the coming days before he is officially announced as a new signing.
Following the arrival of Paul Pogba and Angel Di Maria, the Brazilian will become the third new signing of the summer for the Serie A club.
He featured 33 times for the club last season, and was among the best in the league. His towering stature and physical ability will provide a similar profile to De Ligt and Koulibaly, which Juventus need at the back.
