Gabriel Jesus is set to stay in the Premier League for the upcoming season. He will be leaving Manchester City, with the arrival of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez confirmed.
Real Madrid were reportedly interested in signing him recently, but have been ruled out in the last few days. The Brazilian wants to remain in England, and won’t be moving to the Spanish capital as a result.
Gabriel Jesus to choose from Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur
Arsenal have been linked most strongly with the forward. Mikel Arteta and Gabriel Jesus are familiar with each other from Arteta’s time at the Etihad as Pep Guardiola’s assistant. With both Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gone, Jesus could be the first choice striker with the North London side.
But in the last few days, Chelsea have joined the race to sign the player as well. They are looking into a deal to offload Romelu Lukaku, and could sign the Manchester City number 9 as a replacement for the Belgian.
Tottenham have also been rumoured to be interested in the forward, since they need cover for Harry Kane. Antonio Conte’s men are hopeful of mounting a title challenge in the coming season, and having more goalscoring options will give them a much bigger chance to realise their ambitions.
None of the clubs have submitted official bids yet, but the striker’s next destination will be known in the coming weeks when formal communication has been made.
