It was created for certain markets, according to the manufacturer. The 1.5L normally aspirated petrol engine from the global-spec Yaris Cross Hybrid will power it. It will be powered by a 59kWh electric motor and a battery pack. The aggregate power output of the motor will be roughly 114bhp. While the petrol engine will produce 120Nm of torque, the electric motor will produce 141Nm. The hybrid powertrain of the Toyota Yaris Cross is touted to provide a fuel efficiency of over 26kmpl.

With two motors, it will be able to operate in hybrid and pure EV modes. The 1.5L petrol engine will also be available in the new SUV. It will be available with both manual and automatic transmissions. The Hyryder SUV will be built on the TNGA platform, which has been substantially localised.

Connected car technology, a 360-degree camera, a Head-Up Display (HUD), wireless smartphone charging, a sunroof, wireless charging, a digital instrument cluster, and more will be included in the new mid-size SUV. It’s also expected to include an ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) package.

The new Hyryder SUV will look different from Maruti Suzuki’s planned mid-size SUV, even though it is co-developed with Suzuki and both models will share platform and design features. The powertrain, on the other hand, will remain unchanged.
