Manchester City have unveiled their long-planned statue of Sergio Aguero in front of the Etihad Stadium. The statue can be found on the east side of the stadium, and completes the trinity of City’s biggest legends alongside Vincent Kompany and David Silva.

The statue has been constructed by Andy Scott, who used over a thousand pieces of galvanised steel for construction. City have unveiled the statue on the 10-year anniversary of Sergio Aguero’s iconic goal at 93:20, which won them the Premier League title.

Scott has captured the Argentinian’s celebration following the iconic goal, and it will be illuminated in blue tinted lighting to give the steel statue an eye-catching effect.

Here is what the Manchester City legend had to say after the statue was unveiled: “Truthfully, it is a very beautiful thing for me, to see myself 10 years ago is very moving.

In those 10 years I was able to win a lot of trophies and was able to help the Club become one of the most important in the world.

I am very grateful to the Club for making this statue in recognition of my football career in Manchester. It is something very special.”

The iconic number 10 is Manchester City’s top scorer of all-time with 260 goals to his name. He was recently inducted into the Premier League hall of fame, and has now been honoured by the club as well.
